About Me
I’m Martha. I love to inspire kids by writing about topics that ignite curiosity and instill a desire to learn.
My Story
When I was in the third grade, I wrote a poem about Easter. My teacher was so impressed, she sent me to read my poem to the teacher next door. I was so terrified, I went into the hallway and stood there for about ten minutes before returning to my classroom. When my teacher asked how it went, I shrugged my shoulders and lied saying that she liked my poem. My teacher never said another word about it. Even though I chickened out of reading my poem, that was the day that I knew that I was going to be a writer. My teacher never knew what a powerful impression she had made on me that day.
Life took me on many roads. As I look back over the years, I can see how I was prepared for this very moment – but it was a long and bumpy ride to get here. I am still amazed at how my life has come full circle.
I now get to pursue this long-held dream of writing for a living. I’m still learning and finding my way, but I am so happy to be here.
Today, I live with my husband and three spoiled dogs. My two kids are grown and thriving and despite the chaos of today’s world, life is sweet. My cup is full.
